Inside the school there is a room with more ruins. In the bottom right of this picture you can see a really old column that is made of marbel. The picture to the right was taken somewhere else in the school. I think it is a place of worship or theater, something like that. It is from the gothic area, they know because the cielings come to a point above the alter (the head) and then towards the other side of the room the cieling is rounded (the foot). Queen Isabell stood on the balcony in the picture and the school has letter of complaint from her because when she was there she was cold!

The clave principal de santo domingo was the main clave of the founder of the school. They restored it and it is magnificent! It has so many colors and looks very european. We saw lots of other amazing things at school including what used to be a staircase made of stone but is now built into the wall with plaster falling off. the guide told us that parts of the school were built in the 1200s and lots more were added after that. the classrooms that we will be in have walls from the 16th century ! After touring the school one of the professors showed us around Segovia on foot! I thought it was a small city, but unless we were doing hairpin turns up some kind of hill, it is bigger than i thought. the city was built on tons of small hills so its a little hard to walk in heels but I guess we will get used to it? We stopped a ton at little places caled miradores. These are pituresque places where you can take photos, which is why they are called miradores. Tomorrow I will put up the pictures from the city. I'm having a hard time with the formatting on this page, i think with time it will get better. I love and miss all of you! I'll add more pictures tomorrow! Ashes
