Ok,

Let me just tell you all it is absolutely freezing here. Much like arizona in winter time when it is raining... Thank God I brough jeans... MOM! today was absolutely crazy. I went running at 10 and it rained on us, and then I bought a cell phone so that i can call my study abroad friends and family just in case someone gets lost or i forget my keys, etc. I figured out that I don't sleep through my first class if I drink caffeine, excelente! and during lunch we went to the cathedral de segovia which was magnificent :) I didn't have enough time to eat because I had another class where we learned about the acueducto. We met in the plaza de acueducto and walked around. First we walked up these little hilly streets so that we were as tall as the acueducto (28 m) and looked out. When I uploaded the pictures all at once it put them in reverse order. The bottom left is me in front of the cathedral during lunch, the one next to it on the right is of a typical street in segovia with the little bridges between buildings. In the row above it: the picture on the left is of the canal from the acueducto (it looks like a little bridge). It used to carry water to individual houses in the city. the photo to the right is of one of the doors leaving the city. This door, named portillo consuelo, is built into the wall of the city and in ancient times when it was closed no one could enter the city. (there are several entrances to the city, but they were all closed at night). The top row of pictures is of the view from portillo consuelo if you look closely at the one on the right you can see where the acueducto curves around toward the left!
