Santillana del mar

This beautiful midevil city in cantabria is said to have three lies in its name. Santillana del mar is neither holy (sant), flat (llana), nor does it contain a sea (mar). Regardless, Santillana del mar was a peaceful little town that has a cathedral (as do all spanish cities) and a midevil torture museum, which unfortunately I did not visit. They also are the creators of the best homemade chocolate I have ever had in my life. AMAZING. The picture below is of a tipical building in Santillana, and also the restaurant where the majority of our group went to lunch! Unfortunately our time in SDM was during the exact hours of afternoon siesta and all the stores were closed leaving us with the sole option of dining. The house with all the flowers on it must be the most photographed building in Santillana, it is also on every single postcard coming from the city.
Lovely pottery from the region. I would have bought one of these pitchers if the stores were open!
